"Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, construction - deconstruction", Rain, 2020, France. Acrylic on canvas.
Prestige work.
"Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, construction - deconstruction" is an abstract cubic work painted by the French artist Rain. The structure of the forms comes from the sampling of the volumes that make up the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Each element of the facade of the building has been isolated, simplified, inverted, deconstructed, and then brought together into a grouping of aesthetic forms. The notion of top and bottom disappears, although a balance seems to persist.
We find in the composition the forms that define the essence of the New York building, such as the arches, the triangles of the square, the inverted fountain, the steps and the carved bay windows.
Technical characteristics: Long-lasting protective varnish. Dimensions of the canvas without frame (61x46x2.5 cm). With frame: (67x52x4 cm). Work signed, dated and titled on the front and back of the canvas by the artist. Preserved in France.
